Christ is Risen!
Holy Week has provided us with a variety of emotions. From the exuberance of Palm Sunday and the joy of the institution of the Most Blessed Sacrament on Thursday to the sorrow of Good Friday and Our Lord’s Passion and Death. Now we bask in the presence of our Risen Savior who is “trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life!”
The Easter season is a time of new beginnings. The Earth cries out with beauty and hope as flowers blossom and trees bloom. With this newness comes the responsibility to renew our commitment to the Risen Christ. The Lord declares “Turn ye to me, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will turn to you, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zech. 1:3). We must acknowledge Christ by our faith, by our actions, and by our turning to Him and His Blessed Mother.
Still, there are those who now say Christ was not resurrected. But we are reminded that “if Christ be not risen again, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain” (1 Cor. 15:14). Christ is our hope and His resurrection is central to our faith. May we always be reminded of his great sacrifice for us and seek to serve Him greater each day.
May Almighty God Bless you the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
